My good friend in AZ suggested a internet game of sorts. It was a challenge to google your name and the word "needs" after it. I did so and some of the results were hillarious and some of the results were . . . disturbing. I'd been warned. I chose my top ten to share with all of you then -"tag", you try it . . . but be warned, it can be disturbing!
STACEY NEEDS:
*A buddy . . . (sure, who doesn't??)
*to get rid of the mullet (excuse me? Wow, I've never thought of a mullet - - maybe)
*New shoes (Yes, yes, and YES!)
*You to help fulfill her Olympic Dream (Awesome - it would have to be to compete in a marathon of sorts! Just send money!)
*A hobby (Nope - just need time to pursue the ones I've got)
*Styling tips (I think the mullet one takes care of this)
*A New Laptop (Definitely YES!!! Then I wouldn't have to share with my kids, then again, I probably would. What's mine is ours . . .)
*To be locked up (Some days this sounds heavenly, some days I'm sure others wonder, but overall, I decline)
*To capture your attention from the very first word (YES! I've always had the dream to become articulate and effective in my verbal communication skills)
*To shave her back (No, no and NO! This one is definitely disturbing!)
There it is. I'm amazed at the things one can do with this modern technology to relieve some stress.

This year's gonna fly!
Don't ya just love my lingo? I'm reading a good book called "These Is My Words" and it's simply delightful. It's about a gal who homesteaded AZ. The main character is one I can really relate to and the story will have you both laughing and crying. I now want to learn how to shoot a rifle properly, not that I should ever have to use it (I hope!).
It was a busy week at our house. I think all of the music teachers decided that December was so packed full of concerts, they decided to pack January as well. We had Kaylee's UT Youth Symphony Concert on Monday night then Shannon's Concert Choir on Thursday night, Weslie and Shannon have a piano recital this week. Weslie had a basketball game Saturday (Whitney coaches her team - I will have to get some good photos to share next week). Kaylee is in the pit orchestra for Peter Pan their High School Musical this Spring. She goes at 5:30 AM every morning for practice. Weslie was in the school geography bee and made the top 10 then got eliminated.
She also was priveledged to be asked to be the ball girl for the UT State Girl's Basketball Team (GO AGGIES!!) so we went to two games this week and they were fun! Her dream is to play on the Girl's team some day. We also attended the USU Boy's games and Whit had to referee for Kendall's basketball game as well as play on his own team. What can I say? We are a basketball family.
The top event of the week was . . . WHITNEY'S BIRTHDAY!! I won't disclose his age as that might lend me some trouble but we celebrated with the usual cake, icecream and home-made chicken fried steak. Now for a word on chicken fried steak . . . Most of you are thinking - YUCK! Well, you haven't tasted properly made chicken fried steak. Whitney's grandmother makes the best in the world. It literally melts in your mouth and she was so gracious to teach me how to make it. Mine's not near as good as hers but it sure gets the old taste buds watering! If any of you want to come visit, I'll show you what I mean. With weeks like this ahead, this year's going to fly!
Here's a picture of Whit and his cake. Don't bother counting candles. (Hee Hee)

4) Going through the Twin Falls Temple & staying with the Wills Family
5) Mommy gets her Bachelor's Degree (FINALLY!!)
6) Kaylee singing in the General YW Broadcast at the Conference Center. (We went to the practice a week before with Whit's parents and then followed up with a visit to the zoo and lunch).
7) Going to West Texas with Gr'pa Jack for Spring Break (Only Dad, Shan, Wes, and Braden went but they had fun!)
8) Going to Hardware Ranch and taking a sleigh ride up close to MANY Elk

That's How It Goes . . .
Here's how it goes . . . Braden starts feeling sick last Sunday night. We awake to the sound of . . . well you know. (Alarm clocks with that sound would wake everyone the first go round - no snooze button!). Tuesday we awake to the same alarm only from Landon this time. Wednesday we awake on our own but later find out Kaylee has been very discreet about having the flu. Kendall goes to work for her that night only to return home after work and stay close to the bathroom himself. Friday . . . All is well . . . almost! About 10 PM Shannon gets it. Saturday . . . well who's left?? That's right! Weslie gets it. Finally we think we are done however today (Tues.), Whitney's turn. I'm a little nervous here and would brag about not getting it yet but I know better! At least it hit during the holiday - Welcome 2009!! Hope this isn't a sign or something. Hope you all had a wonderful New Year and celebrated with style (and no regrets!). Sorry, no personal pictures on this one.
